UUs to focus on living in a changing world at service

The Pagosa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship strives to offer services from what inspires us spiritually, from climate and social justice, belief systems and beyond.

We are a Welcoming Congregation as designated by the Unitarian Universalist Association, which states: “being welcoming means striving for radical inclusion, and creating spaces that honor every part of our identities, backgrounds, and experiences.”

The fellowship typically meets for in-person services on the first and third Sundays of the month at 10:30 a.m.; however, we took time to celebrate Earth Day with the wider community on April 21 in Centennial Park.

The following quote by Robin Wall Kimmerer, author of “Braiding Sweetgrass”, speaks to the continued effort it takes to make every day Earth Day: “Gratitude is most powerful as a response to the Earth because it provides an opening to reciprocity, to the act of giving back, to living in a way that the Earth will be grateful for us.”

During the service on Sunday, May 5, we will revisit a reflection of how to live in our changing world.

As Kimmerer’s statement suggests, a practice of gratitude is at the forefront. Through story and song, we will hold space for further sharing of tools and practices that can support the emotional impact of environmental degradation.

Find us in Unit B-15 of the Greenbriar Plaza, 301 N. Pagosa Blvd., on the north side facing the Pagosa Peak. Join us. For more information about the fellowship, please visit www.pagosauu.org and find our current newsletter. You can join us online using Zoom at the meeting link https://us02web.zoom.us/j/8991941305.

On alternate Sundays, in-person meditation practice is held on the second and fourth Sundays at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome.
