We’re excited and a little sad to report all tickets for Runway for Rise are sold out.
We know there are still many of you hoping to attend. We have created a waitlist for last-minute cancellations. Go to riseaboveviolence.org, select “Purchase Runway Tickets” and sign up to be notified if any spots open up. If you have purchased a ticket that you cannot use, please notify annie@riseaboveviolence.org so another supporter can attend.
While your opportunity to attend may have ended, your opportunity to make a difference has not. Your favorite teams are still asking for your voting dollars. They are working hard to raise the most money in votes and take home the Pagosa Prada Award.
Those dollars translate directly into incredible support for victims of domestic violence in Pagosa. Just go to riseaboveviolence.org and reward your favorite teams with your money.
This week’s featured team, Rebel Women, explained they “have joined in this wonderful event to bring recognition to a critical issue. We look forward to working hard to help educate our family, friends and community to the efforts of RISE and the support it provides to domestic violence victims.”
We’re proud to announce that the evening will include one special silent auction item for bidding. This unique piece of art, created by Sueyel Grace, is very meaningful for Rise Above Violence and will only be available on Oct. 5. Bidding will be open before and after the show and the highest bidder will take home this amazing piece of artwork.
All money raised through the silent auction, wine pull and team voting will go directly to Rise programs.
This organization has a multifaceted approach to violence in our community. Did you know representatives are willing to come talk to your group and provide general information all the way up to professional training specialized to your needs? Presentations range from sexual harassment prevention in your workplace, to how to help a victim of domestic violence or sexual assault in your neighborhood, workplace, or as a friend or colleague. Rise has worked with local clergy, educators, employers, health care systems and other allied professionals to become increasingly trauma-informed in ways to get involved so victims don’t stay trapped in silence.
